André developed his pigeon breed in the 1970s, when he was close friends with Nelles Van De Pol, who provided him with pigeons of Hofkens. These pigeons are still the main building blocks of this successful team. His stock breeder is De Tom, a great racing bird but first of all an exceptional breeder. He bred for instance the winner of a 1st Nat. Gueret 2020 and Belgium’s Best, a 1st Olympiad Pigeon 2014. His nest brother Nestpender is also a great racing and breeding bird. And 691 Broer Tom is perhaps his best breeding brother, as the sire of Lady Shyne (1st Nat. Bourges 2017), grandfather Missed Ace (1st Nat. La Souterraine 2014) and New Tom (1st Nat. La Souterraine 2020). And 521 Sister Tom became grandmother of a 1st Nat. La Souterraine 2014 and 3rd Nat. Ace Pigeon KBDB 2014. This is a pigeon family that without doubt helped shape pigeon racing in Belgium.

He is regarded as one of the most influential pigeon fanciers of the last decade. He is praised as one of the ‘big names’ behind the Natural breeding station. But he is first of all one of Belgium’s greatest champions in history. He is a record holder with 17 x 1st King of Union Antwerp, which is often called the university of pigeon racing. He has been aiming for the nationals for a number of years now, and with great success: André has already won 5 x 1st national. This PIPA auction, in which he sells his entire old birds’ collection, is without doubt one of the highlights of the 2020-2021 season.
